Fishing Report

The Black Samurai Fishing Report has become a bit of a barometer of "what's being caught - and where!"

We now email you a summary with usually only one or two pictures and upload the full report with lots of the best the pictures to the web.

2008 Refit 

This is a year of improvements. We have just installed a brand new state of the art SIMRAD Digital Navstation.

To compliment this we have also installed a Differential GPS antenna. The advantage of DGPS is upgraded accuracy. This provides position accuracy to within  +/- 1.8 metres!

There is also a new "Surround Sound" DVD system with a new larger LCD TV with built-in HD (High Definition) capability.

Black Samurai has had a full repaint with the hull now shiny teal green and white topsides also glistening with new Awlgrip finish.

The cockpit and flybridge have also been painted shiny white and the cockpit deck has been completely refurbished with new teak. 

The refit is now complete and we are into the 2008 season.

Meet our new RIB

We have replaced our inflatable with a tough, stable New Zealand built Southern Pacific.

It is the Shearwater 310 which is the heavy duty commercial model and will carry four passengers plus all the gear necessary to carry out maritime repair work, crew transfers etc.

The brand new motor is a 9.8 HP Tohatsu with long range fuel tank.  In sea trials it has proven to be extremely stable and very fast.

Skipper receives     IGFA Certification

Skipper Darryl Brandon has been officially recognized as an IGFA Certified Captain by the International Game Fish Association.

There a numerous benefits in being recognized by the IGFA. For our clients, you will know that as far as is possible, all our tackle will meet the standards of the rules which govern the taking and ratification by the IGFA of world gamefishing records. And your crew can advise you of the correct methods of handling tackle etc.
