Black Samurai  qualifies for exemption from Reef Fish Closures!

Big news is that Black Samurai will qualify for exemption from the Coral Reef Finfish Closures. This means that for our valuable clients, there will be no restriction on taking Coral Trout and other reef fish species during the spawning closures from now until at least 2013.

We congratulate the Queensland Government (DPI & Fisheries) on a common sense decision to exempt charter operators with a creditable history from the closures.  This is a particularly sensible outcome which means the paying tourists are allowed to fish.

Big Refit for 2009

We have just installed a brand new state of the art SIMRAD CX-44 Digital Navstation.

This provides our position accuracy to within  +/- 1.8 metres!

Other improvements include the following:

• New Samsung "Surround Sound" theatre system w/- 700 Watts RMS - big sound.

• Big 22" LCD TV with built-in HD 

• Completely new refrigeration system

• New Air Conditioner

• Upgraded watermaker membrane

• New S.S. WOK burner

New Menu 

Inspired by my mate Simon Chik of Simon's Wok Inn, we have added a new Wok Burner and complementary menu - including Soft Shell Crab.

Add to this Tempura Prawns and Scallops, Prawn Twisters and beer battered reef fish  - plus our regular meals - and you have a menu that has been given the "thumbs-up" by clients.

"Little Samurai" above, is a tough, New Zealand built Southern Pacific R.I.B. (Rigid Inflatable Boat).

"Little Samurai"  has proved herself in the past couple of months. We have serviced nearly all of the lights and structures in Hydrographers Passage to the satisfaction of Australian Maritime Systems (AMS) and Maritime Safety Queensland (MSQ).

Our new inflatable is the heavy duty commercial model and will carry four passengers plus all the gear necessary to carry out maritime repair work, crew transfers etc.

Skipper Darryl Brandon has been officially recognized as an IGFA Certified Captain by the International Game Fish Association.

There a numerous benefits in being recognized by the IGFA. For our clients, you will know that as far as is possible, all our tackle will meet the standards of the rules which govern the taking and ratification by the IGFA of world gamefishing records. And you crew can advise you of the correct methods of handling tackle etc.
